The department was incorporated in 2017-18 and since then the department has accomplished innumerable milestones and is continuously growing. The department participated in the “Paint my City” initiative organized by Prayagraj Smart City and the students painted numerous buildings like Vikas Bhawan, Indra Bhawan, the Airport and many other locations throughout the city. The department also encourages its student to participate in international and national art competitions and exhibitions. Students participate in competitions organized by Rajya Kala Lalit, NCZCC, textile ministry and have been awarded cash prizes and Appreciation Certificates.
Under the course, theory and practical knowledge are imparted. The practical course includes topics like ‘Landscape’ ‘Still-life’, ‘Live-Painting,’ ‘Models,’ ‘Creative Composition’ ‘Sketching’ and many more. The theory course teaches students about the Indian and European ancient, medieval and modern art forms and monuments.
The department is functioning under the supervision of Ms. Madhavi Nirala, B.F.A, M.F.A (NET qualified, pursuing PhD from Bundelkhand University).
